What Customers Say About AT&T E2562 2.4 GHz DSS 2-Line Expandable Cordless Phone with Answering System and Corded Base:

I find the sound quality good and the system fairly easy to use/navigate. I've had this phone system for about 3 years now. I am generally quite pleased with it. My only issue right now is that the numbers on two of our peripheral units are wearing off to the point that they are becoming illegible. I have 4 satellite units along with the base unit, which handles our home needs and my business needs quite nicely.

The unit cuts off callers mid-sentence. No reason known, although it is usually the same caller which makes it even more annoying.

While we couldn't transfer calls as some reviewers criticized, you can put a call on hold, and the other person can then pick up the call. I purchased it for about $150. I've had this phone for 3 years. The only thing I didn't like was the sound on the cordless set seemed on the loud side. It had all the features I was looking for and has worked very well for me. I have a small office with just one employee. But my employee liked that one better, so it worked out the best for all of us. Never had a problem with missing messages or batteries on the handset as other reviewers had.

Switch back and forth between headset, handset and speakerphone on base and on handset. I purchased this phone set 2 months ago, despite varying opinions about its performance, and I'm very glad I did. Cons: If you have children who could pick up the handset while you are on the base phone (or vice versa) this system could be wrong for you. Pros: Menus are easy to navigate, sound quality is good (I use it with Vonage (line 1) and Skype (line 2), easily transfers calls between base and handsets or pick up both lines together (unlike some of the phone systems that don't allow more than one person to pick up the phone), seperate answering machine boxes for easily seperating work (home office, etc) from personal voicemails, speakerphone has a good sound for callers on the other end, and my absolute favorite feature. this phone works wonderfully with a headset at just a touch of one button. It does allow 2 handsets to be on the phone at once. I use this with Panasonic KX-TCA60 Hands-Free Headset with Comfort Fit Headband.

I work form a home office and have both my home line and my office line though this phone. I use it with a headset and it's really userfriendly (this also eliminates any concern over what line you are using since you have to push buttons anyway). The single most import feature is call quality and it is exceptional. It is also true that the battery that came with my remote handset would not hold a charge and require constant charging. If the phone cost $400.00 it might only get 3 stars but at this price point and with all the features you get who can complain. I purchased two new batteries (one for the handset and one for the base unit) and thess new batteries hold a charge much longer and the battery in the base unit keeps the phone working even in a power outage. It is true that the phone does not stay on the last line used, if you want to use line 2 you must first choose the 'L2' button. I have been using this phone for over three years and I'm very satisfied.

As for the answering system cutting off messages, I don't use the answering machine option I use Voicemail from my provider so I have not experienced that problem. It has a lot of nice features including my personal favorite, call waiting caller id. One thing I don't see in may of these reviews is a comment about the price and that has to be a consideration when shopping for anything. At this price I have to give it 5 stars.
